Why Winter Is the Smartest Season to Lock Your Women’s Surf Trip for Summer 2027

If you’re already daydreaming about waves next summer, winter is your soft yes.
Not the dramatic New Year’s “new me” energy. Not the March panic of “wait, everything’s full.” Just a quiet, clear little decision while the rest of the world is still scrolling holiday sales, half-planning resolutions they haven’t made yet, and telling themselves they’ll “look into it after the holidays.”
Here’s the thing about a women’s surf trip 2027: the good ones, the small ones, the ones that actually feel like girlhood by the ocean instead of a crowded camp, don’t wait for resolutions. They fill while you’re still deciding.
And if Portugal has been living rent-free in your head… this is your gentle nudge.
Small groups don’t do “I’ll book later”
At LUNA SURF, our Ericeira weeks are capped at eight women. That’s it. Not a marketing line, an actual villa, an actual lineup of new girlfriends, an actual week that stays intimate on purpose.
When you book a women’s surf trip built like that, timing matters more than people admit. Early Bird spots go first. Then the week fills with girls who didn’t overthink it for six months. Then you’re refreshing the page in spring wondering how summer got so booked.
Winter is when the smart girls quietly claim their place, before the holiday rush swallows your calendar, before January resolutions turn into February guilt, while flights are still flexible, while Early Bird pricing still feels like a wink, while you still have months to get excited (and mildly obsessed with pastel de nata content).
No rush. No pressure. Just… don’t leave your soft yes for spring.
Why Ericeira hits different for a women’s group surf trip
Ericeira isn’t a place you “do” in a weekend and forget. It’s a place you want to live in for a week.
Whitewashed houses. Blue details. Cobblestone streets. Cliffside sunsets. Little cafés where you sit salty and happy with the girls after a morning in the water. It’s Europe’s first World Surfing Reserve, and somehow it still feels like a fishing village that learned how to surf and never looked back.
Just ~45 minutes north of Lisbon, it’s easy to get to and hard to leave. Mornings in the ocean. Afternoons wandering town. Evenings that somehow turn into inside jokes you’ll still be texting about months later.
That’s the energy of a LUNA SURF week: surf progression, yes, but also the friendships, the freedom, the beyond 9 to 5 feeling you’ve been craving.
Whether you’ve never stood on a board or you already chase green waves, you’re welcome. The lineup full of women cheering each other on? Unmatched.
Summer 2027 weeks (the ones worth locking now)
We’re holding space for two full 8-day Ericeira women’s group weeks:
Early Summer, 23 to 30 May 2027
Softer light, that first-of-summer buzz, and still the kind of Ericeira magic that makes you feel like you found a secret. Early Bird from €1399 (regular €1550).
Peak Summer, 4 to 11 July 2027
Long days, golden evenings, full coastal summer mode. Early Bird from €1499 (regular €1650).
Only eight women per week. Three Early Bird spots per week. Once they’re gone, regular pricing applies. A €250 deposit secures your place.
You’ll stay in our private girls-only villa (ocean views, short walk into town), with breakfasts and a welcome Wine & Dine dinner from our private chef, Lisbon airport group transfer windows, and a week built around real surf progression, lessons tailored to your level, board + wetsuit sorted, photo/video moments, and all the soft extras: yoga/recovery, surfskate, a Lisbon day, creative workshop nights, cliff sunsets, and zero pressure to be “on” every second.
Our local coaching partners know these breaks inside out (we work with Surfin Ericeira for the water side), so you get that sweet mix of feeling looked after and actually progressing.

“But it’s only winter…” (exactly)
That’s the whole point.
Winter is when you get to choose your week calmly, before the holidays scramble your brain, before New Year’s resolutions turn into a to-do list you never open, before spring when the Early Bird spots are already waving goodbye.
It’s when you can still pick Early Bird. When you can fill out the interest form, hop on a short video call if you want, ask the silly packing questions, and feel held, instead of scrambling later.
Most of our girls arrive solo. Most leave with a little surf family. Age vibe is roughly early twenties to mid-thirties, but honestly it’s more energy than age: open-minded, soft-hearted, down for adventure, ready to feel alive again.
If you’ve been telling yourself “I’ll book something for summer… eventually,” this is your soft yes moment.
You don’t need a perfect plan. You need a place, a week, and eight women who get it.
